Curious Vintage Summer '14

Here are the photos I mentioned just over a week ago. Michelle and I headed down to the beach and played dressup with some of my favourite Summer pieces from Curious Vintage. The weather changed about half way through and you can see that some clouds pulled in overhead to give the pictures a very different feel. I like the two different kinds of images and I'm pretty chuffed with how it turned out in general. I think next time I'm going to do what I've been thinking about for a long time and shoot the entire thing in film. It's risky, but the rewards are worth it.

I'm all eagerness and ignorance heading into my first year of university and I couldn't be more excited about it. 2013 was both terrible and brilliant for me. I took a pretty much unplanned gap year and got a lot of criticism for it (both from myself and others) but I can say, now that it's over and done with, that I'm happy with what I achieved. Starting a business and paying for yourself to go overseas is not too shabby. Although becoming a complete emotional mess over trying to figure out what to do with my life was not the most pleasant of experiences I am still glad I went through it. I haven't figured it out yet but I've gotten to the place where I don't feel like I actually have to have it figured out.

On another note, I'm obscenely excited to have some sort of set routine this year! Happy New Year all!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope the locals are all enjoying their day off. I've been up to something over the past few days that I'm excited to finally share with you, I've opened an online shop for my vintage clothing!

I've been trying for a long while to figure out how to go about selling curious vintage online and I feel like I've finally found the solution. I needed a site with a large amount of South African viewers as selling my goods internationally is quite a task. I'm still willing to post items overseas if any of you are interested, we'll just have to figure out the cost of shipping.

gift fair

Sorry about the impromptu blogging break, the silly season is upon us and I'm working my bum off before the holidays begin. I thought I'd pop by and share some photos of the stall that my mom and I ran at The Constantia Gift Fair. We worked so hard on putting this together and aside from a few hiccups with the weather on the first day it was a huge success! Now my mom and I are daydreaming about a more permanent shop, you never know..

Besides running around like a silly woman and making necklaces till 11 o'clock at night I've also started re-reading The Hunger Games trilogy in preparation for the release of Catching Fire next week. Anybody else out there completely consumed by this series?

Happy Saturday all. I thought I'd share some photos of odds and ends that I've taken recently. First off is my Summer essentials, that blue book with a lion on the front I bought in Italy and it's actually a diary for next year. I'm so excited to use it! The second image is my big splurge from my Venice trip (which I actually bought in Bologna), it's the perfect, handmade leather satchel for varsity next year and it was actually cheaper (and better) than anything I'd found here in SA. Lastly, a few pics of blouses I've got recently for curious vintage.
