This past Saturday I found myself at Made in the Cape, an artisan goods showcase filled to the brim with local craft talent. It was such a relief to see all these locally produced goods of such an high calibre that I could actually buy there and then. Normally when I spot quirky, handcrafted pieces it's through a computer screen and the postage alone would cost me an arm and a leg.
The event takes place within Cavendish Square so you can get your ususal shopping done at Mr P and Woolies and sit down with a cuppa from Vida while still being able to feast on the designs of fellow Capetonians.
If you want to get the info of individual traders head on over to Made in the Cape's facebook page. The event runs Friday through Sunday with the next one starting the 31st of August.
