studio tour

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

Last week I shared tote bags from Zana with you all and yesterday I saw on their facebook page that they've released a little tour of their studio. Oh how I'd love to work in a space like this! It's the perfect mixture of crisp, white cleanliness and bright colour to keep you wide awake when burning the midnight oil.

The space was designed by Melissa Louise and photographed by Lindie Meyer.

Western

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

I'm not usually a fan of Southwestern style homes. The fur rugs, mounted animal heads and abundance of cacti usually is enough to put me off but this home (that has all three things I mentioned) somehow has won me over.

Lauren and Stiles have created a home in Denver, Colorado that I truly adore. I think it's the mixture of vintage pieces, family heirlooms and the general warmth of the space that has me swooning. Maybe I am starting to grow an affinity for this patriotic and slightly bohemian style after all.

travis and maike

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

It's not often that you see South Africans featured on Design Sponge so I was rather thrilled when I found out that the home of Capetonian photographers Travis and Maike McNeill (the duo behind we love pictures) would be showcased on the prestigious site.

The McNeill's home is a mix of their current inspirations and their family history. The combination of Mid-Century Modern style and the antiques that were given to Maike by her German grandmothers make this home a lot different to the generically styled homes we're so used to seeing.

The Socialite Family

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

The Socialite Family has burst onto the blogging scene and emerged with the reputation of being the French version of FvF. Often the public perception of something can be completely off the mark but this time they seem to have it spot on. There's an abundance of well-dressed, good-looking people in their stylish homes telling us about their obscenely cool jobs. Now they've just added children to the mix.

But don't let my slightly cynical write-up confuse you 'cause I am eating their concept up just as much as the next person. In fact, I spent the greater part of my Sunday consumed by their website and the possibility of dressing my own home in a similar manner one day.

Wallpaper

I've always been weary of wallpaper as it tends to remind me of an old grannies house and not in a good way. Yesterday I however came across this post on Lucky Pony and I think that I have been converted. I'm guessing it's 'cause these wallpapers are not of outdated florals that are covered in stains. I don't even know if wallpaper can stain, that's just the image I have in my mind.

It's so good to see these designs by Parisian company Minakani Lab portraying the art of wallpaper in an original, up to date way.

Every second image (ie. the combined images) are not from Minakani Lab so make sure you check Lucky Pony for the correct images sources.

home tour

A little peek into the home of Vienna native, Verena Stummer. I'm entranced by her apartment and how it so incandescently displays her personality. By looking through the pictures of her place you can tell she has a penchant for flowers, color, vintage finds and food. A girl after my own heart!
