Georgia O'Keeffe's desert home

I'm not usually partial to minimalist desert homes but these photos of Georgia O'Keeffe's house in New Mexico caught my attention. Her house looks inhabited and like everything is in daily use whereas with a lot of houses in a similar style it looks like nobody is allowed to touch anything. I also think I'm just fascinated with the artist herself and what she decided to surround herself with on a daily basis.

You can find the sources for each individual photo here.

  3. Georgia O'Keeffe is a personal favorite of mine. I studied her in a middle school art class and ever since have been in love. A few years ago I did an alternative break where we went to ghost ranch in Abiqui, NM where she did so many of her paintings. This house you posted about is nearby and we actually drove by and saw the outside. Then last summer we drove out to Phoenix... and on the way stopped at a museum dedicated to her work in Santa Fe, NM which was a dream! If you are interested I have posts on each on my page. I'll leave the links here. Ghost Ranch: http://simplyalexandramyfavoritethings.blogspot.com/2011/01/alternative-spring-break-new-mexico.html .
