The rain has finally abated and there's some sunshine peeking through my window. It's finally beginning to feel like Summer. With each day I'm getting more and more excited for the festive season. It must be strange to you Northern Hemisphere folk but I associate Christmas with days at the beach, ice cream and (usually) a mild bout of sunstroke. The last two years I've managed to smother myself in suncream but when I was younger it was a different story.

Anyhow, I hope you all (like me) have a lazy Sunday in the young summer sunshine.

  6. At first I was confused, but then I saw Signe's comment and scrolled up to read that you live in South Africa! We're heading toward opposite weather where I am. It's totally bizarre for me to think of Christmas being warm & all about ice cream 0.o

These photos are really beautiful. Very emotionally evocative. I totally get the feeling of summer--all that sweet lazy sunshine. . .

I can't wait till the heat comes back and the sun peaks through and I can enjoy my sandy summer Christmas :)

  9. I too associate Christmas with the warmer months and summer family barbecues and drinks outside in the warm light. I cannot wait for December.
