Vivian Maier was a nanny in the Big Apple and Chicago between 1951 and the late 1990's. She wandered the streets taking snapshots leaving a mass of 100 000 negatives behind to later be discovered in an auction house in 2007.

i heard of her a few months ago! it's amazing how many truly wonderful photographs she took - i hope someone makes a book someday.

in loooove with these.. all of those little faces tell such a story. how could she not share those photos with people? what a gift.
