flowers in your face

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

Put some flowers in your face and celebrate, it's Friday! It's also the end of the month and we're almost halfway through this year. Actually, that's a little scary.

Calke Abbey

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

It must be so fascinating to have a wander around this manor. I have somewhat of an obsession with stately homes but I think the unique feature of Calke Abbey is that it's not in pristine condition and has been left in the derelict state that the National Trust found it in.

Randy P. Martin

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

Randy P. Martin's photos have a sense of exploration around them. His entire photostream is road-trip inducing. They make you want to get in the car and uncover what all is out there which seems fitting considering the new project Martin and two fellow creatives are embarking on.

Four Thousand Miles is three photographers traveling from Los Angeles to the Arctic on motorcycles and capturing their journey. They haven't started their journey yet (I don't think) but I can't wait to see what comes from it.

Found

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

When I was younger I always thought that the coolest job in the world would be to work for National Geographic; getting paid to travel the world and take pictures of obscure places and interesting people. To be honest, it still is my dream job.

National Geographic have launched a new site called Found which is a collection of images from their archives, many of which haven't been published yet. Found allows us to dive into the National Geographic world and see images that hardly any others have seen which is a dream come true for 13-year-old me.

in celebration

I thought I'd post some of my recent favourites on flickr in celebration of their long awaited upgrade.

If you didn't know, the other day flickr completely revamped their site and we now have access to seamless photostreams, higher resolution images and most importantly, we've all been given 1 terabyte free (!!). I had pretty much stopped using my flickr account as I was almost out of space and couldn't be bothered to either delete some photos or create a whole new account but now I'm thinking I need to jump right back on that bandwagon. After all, it was hours of scrolling through flickr and gathering inspiration that got me into the blogging scene in the first place.

The Secret Garden

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

Every year as I struggle to make the transition to dressing for colder weather, a myriad of lookbooks is released from the northern hemipshere, each one full of sunshine and dresses and pastels that taunt me with their summery goodness and just how much easier it is to dress in those warmer months.

So, in my true fashion, I'm obviously going to share one of those lookbooks with you lovelies just to put some salt in the wound.

The Secret Garden is the latest collection from aptly-named label, Summerland. It was photgraphed by Anja Verdugo.

Spaces

Photo of a big bunny rabbit!

Graphic designer Eva Black runs a feature on her blog that allows us a glimpse into the spaces of fellow creatives. So often we see features on beautiful homes but what's nice about this is that it focuses on the workspaces of individuals. Spaces explores the idea that what we surround ourselves with and how we curate and organise our lives has an influence over what we create.

It's extremely interesting to see where people get the bulk of their work done and I'm now itching to get my workspace organised too. Currently I do all my blogging sitting on my bed with my laptop so I think anything would be an improvement really.
