My mom and I are up with the sparrows this morning and making the trip to Oudtshoorn for the festival. I've worked almost every day for the past week and while I know that's normal for most of you it's a bit of the shock to the system for me and I just feel like there is so much I need to get done. And now I'm off to spend 11 days straight working 12 hour shifts. Oh well, you do what you've got to and I know it won't be this way forever.
Christina Rose Moreno is redesigning floral artistry as she uses dried flowers and moss to design the most stylish and long lasting flower arrangements without making her pieces looked like they belong in my grandmother's house. Her bouquets are simple and understated which is just the way I like almost everything.
You can get flowers of your own over on Christina's etsy.
It's only two days now before I leave for KKNK and I am desperately behind on packing and just generally being organized so I apologize in advance if thee old blog looks like a pigs breakfast for the next few days.
I've always been a little bit in love with Summerland and how they are able to incorporate both old and new pieces into an outfit with such ease and just be generally cooler than every one else around them. This lookbook, Bittersweet, was photographed by Bria Phillips, styled by Megan Hart and modeled by Fiona Woodman.
Obviously this isn't their latest lookbook as I am eternally behind the times so if you want to see even more head on over to Summerland.
I hope you're all having a good Saturday lovelies. I've recently started working as a sales assistant and so my weekends now consist of a 9 to 5 job on both Saturday and Sunday but I can't complain as I get days off during the week and get to have my weekend while everyone else is slaving away.
I'm not really a huge fan of celebrities in general. I used to watch E! Entertainment religiously as a 13-year-old when I thought it was cool to know what Kirsten Dunst had had for lunch the previous Tuesday but over the past few years my voyeuristic tendencies have diminished quite a bit when it comes to the famous and seem to have shifted towards artists, photographers and fashion designers. Case in point: this blog.
That was quite a convoluted intro to this post that doesn't really talk about what I'm going to share today. Sorry. Basically, I found some pretty cool pictures that Brad Pitt took of Angelina Jolie and while I'm not attracted to the images entirely because of who is in them I do think it's refreshing to see photos of a celebrity that are not completely staged or completely unwanted from the celebrities side.
I can be a bit slow on the uptake on occasion but this time I've managed to be almost two years behind when it comes to discovering this collection by San Francisco based boutique, Mother's Daughter. The only downside to my sloth-like discovery skills is the fact that all these pieces are vintage and thus one-offs in the shop and most probably are all long gone. Oh well, at least we still have the lookbook to marvel over.
Happy Human Rights Day to all the South African readers!
Over the past few months my obsession with pinterest has grown and grown and with that obsession has come the discovery of new people with shiny new blogs. Well, shiny new blogs to me that is.
My favourite discovery has to be Beth Kirby of local milk. She has one of the most aesthetically pleasing pinterest accounts I have ever come across and her blog lives up to her self-prescribed standard. She fills her little home on the internet with the most refreshing food photography I've seen in a long while. If you want to find any of the recipes for these culinary delights then just head on over to her blog 'cause she shares that with you too!
