I drooled a little bit on my keyboard when I saw these pictures from behind the scenes of an Elie Saab show. The clothes! The hair! It's just too much.




I have also decided that I am completely in love with this dress and that if faerie godmothers exist they would buy it and post it to South Africa so that I could wear it to my Matric Dance at the end of next month.

Life has been a whirlwind lately, we're about to start our prelim exams ie. the big exams before the BEEG exams and my brain is already being eaten alive by all the information I'm trying to shove inside of it. I'm only gonna get crazier as the exams progress and I apologise for that but before we know it everything will be finished and I'll be done with high school forever!

I'm sure all you pinners out there will have seen the latest photo's of Isabel Wilson by Brian Ferry for Freunde von Freuden. The thing I noticed about these, after being gobsmacked by the pictures themselves, was the name of the photographer. Um, hello, BRIAN FERRY!

Alas! The man behind these images is not the same man who founded Roxy Music. That Brian is in fact a Bryan with a 'Y'.

Anyway, after my mild disappointment I decided to do some research and have come to the conclusion that in order to gain the optimum pleasure from your Saturday morning you should listen to Bryan whilst scrolling through Brian's work and your misconstrued ideas about 70s pop stars shall long be forgotten.

My apologies for the absence lately. I read a tweet the other day that said something along the lines of 'a week is seven years in blog time' and with that in mind I am terribly sorry for being gone even longer than a week. The reason for my disappearing is a mixture between catching the worst flu and my laptop pms-ing for a good portion of the time.

As a peace offering I bring you lovelies Turkish label, Uttu with their quirky style and perfect summer attire I am hooked. Oh and the reason behind their name? Uttu is the goddes of weaving and clothing in Sumerian mythology.

I'm completely enamoured with the slightly witchy feel to these. I'm longing for the days where I can wear long flowing skirts again. I also wish I knew how to perfect the fishtail plait 'cause mine always turn out disastrous.

This week has been a bit of a mess since I've caught the dreaded flu. I've still had to venture outdoors in the rain most days so that I don't get left too far behind in schoolwork but that in turn has made my silly sickness even worse. Sometimes you just can't win!

a tat or two

I was checking blogger stats and was surprised to see that my most viewed post is this gem from 2010 and I have to say that my views on tattoos haven't changed. I still love them but in small, non-tacky doses. I've even been thinking about a tattoo to get myself of the outline of Africa preferably on my ankle or somewhere else discreet but that's something that most definitely won't happen for a while now.

The idea of creating different and unique spaces everyday and getting paid to do so is otherworldly yet Saša Antić does just that.

My interest in styling took off in my early childhood when I was given my own dollhouse. I was obsessed, redecorating it every single day- putting up wallpaper, cutting out carpets and making different arrangements.
It´s funny how I today am doing it all for a living.

If his job isn't the raddest thing ever then I give up.
