Fawn DeViney

I've never really gotten into the whole instagram craze (I know, shock and horror, a blogger who doesn't use instagram!). The main reason of course being that I have a blackberry and thus it's a bit impossible for me to use it.

My nonchalant stance has definitely changed after discovering Fawn DeViney's work. She is a professional photographer after all but I'm still flabbergasted that she can get photos like these WITH HER CELLPHONE. I'm now searching for photo editing apps that I can add to my blackberry so that I can at least pretend I have instagram without going out and buying a whole new phone.

It's been over a month since the last collection so I thought it was about time I did another round up of pretty things to brighten up Saturday.

True Prep

Students are not the only ones going back to school this season, fashion is too. Preppy style – the cardigans and sweaters, pleated skirts, duffle jackets and sweet blouses associated with America and Britain’s academy-oriented upper crust – is having a moment.

This lookbook by House of Maryanne makes me wish I was an English schoolgirl boarding at a top notch institution, but after staying in a hostel while in Grahamstown last month I'm not too sure if I could truly lead a dormitory life. The clothes on the other hand would gladly be incorporated into absolutely everything I do.

Izziyana Suhaimi

Everything is better in 3D as shown here by Izziyana Suhaimi. A mixture of art and embroidery, her work is exponentially amazing.

Possibly my favourite South African photographer at the moment. Her work is the stuff of fairytales and bubblegum.

made in kind

It seems to be a regular occurence for me to spend my time tweeting about the unrequited love I have for Anthropologie. I could never afford any of their treasures with the budget I have and then you throw in the shipping costs to South Africa and well you have a pretty impossible situation. But for some unbeknownst reason I still browse their site as often as I can.

The other day I came across one of their latest projects Made in Kind and was head-over-heels in love! I then proceeded to spend a large amount of time crying into a tub of ice-cream because none of it could ever be mine and in true selfless fashion I decided to share it with you all so you could understand the pain I'm in.

I hope you're all enjoying your weekends. I'm spending this lazy, rainy Saturday indoors with a cup of tea.
