My bedroom is in desperate need of a little makeover and my life is in dire need of some organization. Kara has managed to get all of that into her perfect room! The white walls, the pops of colour, the to-do lists, her hand painted labels on her chest of drawers, those books on the window seat.. basically I adore everything!

After admitting my adoration for New York in Sunday's post I thought it would only seem right to share with you all some screenshots of my favourite NYC-based movie. Breakfast at Tiffany's, that is.




I cannot believe it took me so long to watch this (I only got around to it a few weeks back) but it definitely deserves it's title as a classic. Audrey Hepburn is so beautiful, George Peppard a stud and I definitely think I'm going to have to find a way to incorporate turbans into my Summer wardrobe somehow.

Upcoming events in the life of Lauren:

• Starting Spanish lessons after school.
• 1 week of school before a week long holiday and the last term of school before I'm in Matric.
• Picnicing with all my girlfriends.
• Watching the current Matrics make their grand entrances at the Matric Ball this evening. In a years time that'll be me!
• Visiting the local nursery to fuss over the little bunny rabbits that were born a few weeks ago.
• A day at the local theme park with good food, crazy friends and awesome rides.

Exams are over & I seem to be gathering a social life once again. It's always great to spend time with friends & just relax. It also is super exciting to see it all laid out in front of me like that.

Basically, I just like lists. What are you lovelies looking forward to?

I cannot believe I went a week without posting, school kind of reared its ugly head in my direction & forced me to actually work on projects that didn't involve the internet. Horrible, I know.

I'm back to share some pretty clothes with you this Sunday courtesy of Cape Town based label, Mint. Their Spring/Summer collection has me itching to get to the beach, eat ice-cream & just do anything Summer related.






I'm adoring the way they incorporated illustrations into the lookbook to give it a quirky edge & all the U.S. influences have my unhealthy obsession with New York flaring up again.

That first image reminded me of the circus, or the way I like to envision it in my mind. I often get on a high horse about animal cruelty when someone brings up the topic of the circus & as much as I enjoyed the acrobatics as a child I couldn't get over the fact that they were using real animals. I've been introduced to the next best thing though, Madame Zingara, which according to some is just the circus without animals and far more extravagant costumes.

I'm headed out to see it tonight & I'm as giddy as can be. I shall tell you all how it went tomorrow (:

Exploded Flowers

Spring has sprung and Cape Town has beautiful blossoms everywhere. I couldn't help but smile on my walk home from school today every time I noticed a new cluster of colourful flowers. The city is filled with yellows, pinks, purples, blues, reds.. I just love Spring.

It's no secret I have a huge girl crush on Diana so when I saw that she had taken out her metaphorical paintbrushes (ie. had some good old photoshop fun) and managed to enhance already amazing images I just couldn't anymore. How can one person be so creative and innovative and just plain awesome?

recent happenings.

I thought I'd get out my camera and divulge my love of vintage with you all. Luckily, my mom is as obsessed as I am with pieces of a bygone era. She bought me the vintage globe in the first two pictures.




My mom & I also managed to find these beautifully covered classics. Some silly person thought it'd be good to buy no.9 out of the set so we were left with an incomplete collection but for just R1 each (that's $1.25 for all nine of them!) they were indeed worth it.





Some new additions to my vintage heels collection. They all hurt like hell but they look pretty.




& some snaps replenishing the stock of fresh flowers in my room.
