I attempted an outfit post today but ended up just letting my teenager side get to me and the only good shots I got (or the only shots I got) were close ups. So, I decided since it doesn't make its way on here often, here's my face.

The one thing that could be better than reading a good book is looking at a whole load of good books and, I have found the mother-load of photostreams comprising of copious amounts of good books.

Ok, I know my above statement may be a bit false as hardly anything is better than a good book (:

Terrariums

Winter has hit and I could really use some greenery indoors. These terrariums courtesy of Clever Nettle seem like the perfect solution. If any f you have made some yourself or have found tutorials on how to do it please send them my way. They don't seem too hard to muster up but a little guidance never helps (:

Toby Price

Toby Price seems to be the mystery man of the moment. After seeing one of his pictures repeatedly in my Cape Town tracked tag on tumblr, I presumed he was a Capetonian himself but after some inspection it turns out he's taken photo's all over the globe but were he's from or who he is is nowhere to be found. Nevertheless, his work is astounding.

I always try to check out peoples photostreams if they leave a favourite or comment on my flickr so when I found out the other day that someone as talented as Darlene had taken a liking to my photo's I felt quite honoured. This girl is a whizz with photoshop, I definitely need to get creating some digital collages myself.

It's no secret that my dream city is Barcelona and after a little research on my trusty google maps I've found that this little seaside village is less than two hours away from there. I'm sure one day I'll find myself in the catalan village of Calella de Palafrugell, if not for the little shipping boats and shuttered windows but for the name itself -what a beauty!

exciting happenings

I've got some exciting things coming up over the next few weeks. If you didn't already hear over on my twitter, I spent a part of the day meeting all the people at a photography studio in Cape Town where I will be job shadowing next week and then something happening even sooner is the Desmond Tutu Youth Peace Summit starting this Thursday through Saturday which I am lucky enough to have been chosen to go to. I'm so excited it's crazy! I plan on keeping my camera with me at all times so I can share everything with you lovelies (:

Watching... youtube compilations of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It started a year ago today, can you believe it? This one got me teary eyed indeed.

Listening... Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits that I stole from my parents cd collection.
Learning... to speak Spanish. It's a lengthy process.
Drinking... any hot chocolate I can get my hands on.
Enjoying... today! I'm heading out to watch more rugby at Newlands tonight. Apart from the possibility that I might get mild frostbite it's going to be amazing.

These past two weeks I've been writing exams and with ten down now I've only got two more to go. I cannot wait until I finish on Monday as I have some exciting things coming up in the next few weeks that I shall fill you in on soon enough (:

It really is the wrong time of year for me to be looking at these though as winter has arrived in Cape Town and today I managed to get hit by the rain when I was walking to school & on my way home.

Here's one for the South Africans today with these humorous Afrikaans illustrations. As English is my home language I often found things to be quite peculiar when studying Afrikaans especially the idea that teeth + pasta can somehow make the word toothpaste.
