An African twist

Something you don't hear of everyday; a Victorian mansion in Zambia.

I love how it still has elements of the English culture mixed in together with African details but it has kept itself from looking like the little curio shops aimed at tourists, I find lining the streets of Cape Town. It looks as if it's a home.

Good Heavens

Local is most definitely lekker in the case of these ties created by Cape Town based company, Good Heavens.

There is just something about a guy in a suit, or any remnants of it, that I love. I don't care what others say but Barney Stinson is a smart man. I'm also quite liking that florals are becoming more and more accepted in men's clothing.

Easter

Happy Easter all! I hope your day is filled to the brim with family and good food. It's raining here in Cape Town so I've spent most of today under the covers reading Tess of The D'Ubervilles. I can smell the Sunday roast being prepared in the kitchen so I better be off.

last days of summer

I have a week off from school for our Easter break & I'm hoping I may find some weather like this for a day or two, although I think Summer has finally come to an end down here.

I've been growing my hair out for a while now and it's almost down to the middle of my back. It seems to be taking forever but I think that's just 'cause I cannot wait till it's super long.

Possibly one of thee prettiest etsy stores I have come across is Alexandra Grecco. I saw the heart cutout dress sometime last year all over lookbook and just never bothered to figure out where I could accumulate my own. So you can guess I was rather chuffed coming across a picture of that first dress however, I'm still not sure I could get my hands on one as the prices aren't that suitable to my budget.

Freedom Two

I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across these images thanks to Amanda.

Freedom is a collaboration between photographer Sara Orme & Lonely Hearts; an absolutely delightful Kiwi fashion label.

These pictures got me so excited for winter*. I somehow have managed to convince myself it's already here & I've started dressing accordingly so when the thermometer reads 28C I've been finding it quite upsetting.

*I know you'd more than likely freeze in these clothes in the colder months but here in South Africa they aren't too far off from what we can get away with wearing on some winter days.

It's back to school tomorrow after a week long holiday & this photo quite accurately demonstrates what I'm going to be like the entire day.

Messi

After what I said in my previous post it seemed only appropriate to have some football goodness on here although their training kits aren't exactly the style I post about. These pictures of a dapper looking Lionel Messi, however, are most definitely the type of style I can post about.

I don't know what it is but put any boy in a suit and voila they just got a lot more handsome. Do any of you find that?





Speaking of boys in suits, I went shopping with a group of friends the other day and all the boys decided they were going to suit up. No doubt Barney Stinson had something to do with their decision but they really looked so cute & I might add quite handsome (:

What are you all up to this weekend? Once again I'm off to the rugby with the boys. Despite my blog being a haven for all things pink & frilly, in real life I'm quite the tomboy. I dress very girly and occasionally have my moments but 90 percent of the time I'm hanging out with the boys, taking about football & rugby. I quite like it like that.

I've been struck by the flu & just wish I could keep warm like the girl in the third picture, have an endless supply of hot chocolate & watch Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist over & over again. Most of which, to my delight, I can actually do. I've got a week off school between the 1st and 2nd term & if my hot chocolate doesn't run out, my wishes may come true (:
